King Charles III Will Not Meet Prince Harry During His Stay in London

Prince Harry arrived in London to give testimony in court against 'Associated Newspapers Ltd', the owner of the 'Daily Mail'. Despite his father, King Charles III, also being in the capital, a meeting between them is not planned. The King is keen to maintain neutrality in the legal dispute involving his son and will continue his official duties, including attending a reception for the President of Indonesia.

King Charles III Will Not Meet Prince Harry During His Stay in London

Prince Harry attended to give testimony in the case against the company that owns the 'Daily Mail' newspaper. King Charles III returned to the British capital London after a foreign visit to continue performing his official duties, without meeting his son Prince Harry, despite the Duke of Sussex being in London's High Court to give testimony in a current legal case. The King participated in a reception for Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, held near his residence at Clarence House, where the event was held in support of efforts to protect the environment in Indonesia. This official activity comes after the King's return from a visit to Scotland, as he begins his duties in London, just two miles from the location of his son Prince Harry, who attended in person to give testimony in the ongoing dispute with 'Associated Newspapers Ltd', the owner of the 'Daily Mail'. The last meeting between King Charles and his younger son took place during Prince Harry's previous visit to the UK last September after a break of about 19 months, however sources close to the royal family indicate that no new meeting between them is expected during this visit, as the King is keen to adhere to the principle followed within the British royal family, which dictates avoiding any interference or appearance in the context of ongoing legal cases, especially those that might be interpreted as direct or indirect involvement from the King. It is known that King Charles does not intend to meet with his son during his current stay in the UK, to avoid any impression that might suggest his involvement or influence in the civil case against 'Associated Newspapers Ltd'. This stance is part of a commitment to full neutrality in legal cases before the court. It is worth noting that Prince Harry is leading this legal case alongside six other claimants, including the famous musician Elton John and his partner David Furnish, activist Baroness Doreen Lawrence, politician Simon Hughes, as well as actresses Sadie Frost and Liz Hurley. The claimants accuse 'Associated Newspapers Ltd' of collecting personal information about them through illegal methods and without their consent, exploiting their public status. The accusations include obtaining data and information that was later published in articles belonging to the company, where it is alleged that this information was collected through illegal activities or by commissioning third parties to carry them out, such as wiretapping phone calls and fraudulently accessing private records, in clear violation of privacy and applicable laws.
